Family and friends of Sen. Mike Carrell held a private memorial service for him on Wednesday and will attend a public ceremony Monday at the Capitol.
The Senate plans to adopt a formal resolution honoring the Lakewood lawmaker at 10 a.m., followed by a ceremony in the Capitol rotunda. Carrell’s family will attend. Speakers include several senators, Carrell’s aides and Gov. Jay Inslee.
Carrell is survived by his wife Charlotte, sons Matthew, Larry and Carlton, and five grandchildren.
